Position: Event Set Up Crew
Status: Part Time
Shifts: Varying - includes days, nights, weekends, some holidays
POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including but not limited to placement of tables and chairs, mobile bars, catering stations and/or buffet tables, pipe and drape, and any/all additional set up required by SMA management/event hosts to be placed in accordance to predetermined event specific floor plans.

Additional event specific set up may include but is not limited to – placement of rental furniture, dressing room and or stage set up, assist with large video screen/sound equipment, etc.

Must be able to understand basic event floor plans and independently arrange/set up a variety of floor layouts in accordance to event specific floor plans. Such layouts may include but are not limited to – concert style row seating, banquet style table/chairs/bars/buffets, trade shows etc.

Assists with general maintenance and upkeep of event infrastructure throughout the shift, including any minor necessary repairs to tables and chairs, and or promptly report to management any major equipment/facility damage.

Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with SMA staff and management, event hosts and/or event staff/volunteers.

Ability to adhere to OSHA/DHEC safety policies, follow specific SMA safety policies/guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.

Willingness to perform other duties as needed.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Requires climbing, reaching, bending, pulling, and lifting. Some work may include varying environments, including hot and cold temperatures.

Must have reliable transportation.

Ability to stand, lift, be continuously moving, and prepared and able to walk and carry items up and down several flights of stairs when necessary.
Mandatory Requirements
-
Must be 18 years or older.
-
GED or high school/equivalent diploma.
-
Available nights, weekends and some holidays.
-
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a client focused role and/or working events with high profile clients/guests.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, as well as the ability to take direction, follow event specific instructions based on specific client requirements, and communicate questions/concerns with management when necessary.

Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
